So I’m barely into the Monster High fandom. I haven’t bought a doll even.
Yet.
I’m pretty damn sure that’s gonna end up happening sometime soon.
Currently, my favorite characters are Frankie, Draculaura, Jackson, and Holt. /lol Jackson and Holt’s VA/
And apparently one of my friends has seen…
- Welcome! And the behalf of… some of the fandom we welcome you.
- You picked the right place to be a MH fan. A lot of the fourms and wikis are less than sane/friendly/mature/comprehensible.
- Scalpers. Your average doll ranges from $10 for beach/sleep dolls in some stores to $30-something for Sweet 1600 in Toys R Us because they’ve been getting overpriced. That doesn’t count multi-packs or outfits or online but physical stores are the most reasonable sources for dolls. If you catch Amazon or store sites at the right time you can get the dolls at a reasonable cost. But that’s rare and stores are often out of stock. If you go to ebay or amazon 3rd-party sellers, you will see scalper prices. $50 for one doll is bad. Hard-to-find-dolls like Abbey are about $90 minimum online. Hold out. You can save $70 if you wait a few months and drive to a few more stores. If you see a basic in good condition for $30 or something, and you really want that one, that’s not the worst price to pay. But anything more for a single doll is ridiculous. Speaking of, get your Sweet 1600 somewhere besides TRU. They’re about $12 less at Wal-mart and Target.

- Granted, all I do on the wiki is just fix grammar mistakes, but that’s just put me deeper into being a fan. (That, and it gives me something to do when current animes and video games bore me.) But it’s nice to find something creative that feeds my inner horror movie fangirl.
- So basically, these scalpers buy the dolls to sell online at really ridiculous prices? That’s bullcrap in a new level. (Also, what’s TRU?)
- Well, it’d be for mostly my cosplay hobby, though having that dress in general would be just so damn kickass. (Normies would be jealous~.) OF course, I have a lot of Frankie’s other outfits planned as well. (Because I just couldn’t pick only one.)
